Types of shotgun pellets

Types of shotgun pellets.

Everyone, whoever has an air rifle on the market will also find pellets without any problems, which, of course, does not surprise anyone. However, it is worth taking a look at this, what types of shot we distinguish and what makes them different. In this post, we will focus on the material, what they are made of and their diameter.

Lead and plastic.
Air gun pellets, from the point of view of their material, can be divided into lead and those, which are in a plastic jacket. These first additions are also divided from the point of view of the shape of the head. Therefore, we distinguish between flat meals, semicircular, pointed, spherical and hollow. Apart from them, there are also those in a plastic coat. This type of shot is characterized by this, that it is lighter and structured like this, to pick up faster speeds initially. The downside in this case, however, is their accuracy, because we can't say, to make an air gun, which is equipped with this type was too accurate. This is their biggest drawback.

Caliber.
In addition, we make the division based on the caliber. It's hard to say, which caliber is better, but let's start there, that we distinguish caliber pellets here 4,5 and 5,5 mm. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages. However, the price is a big difference between them, because larger caliber pellets are much more expensive. Therefore, many take note, that it is better to purchase an airgun of a smaller caliber. It is a much better solution in economic terms. So if we had any advice on this matter, we would rather recommend shotguns with a caliber 4,5 mm.
