Kopytka is against the name
a sophisticated and delicious dish.

It is made fantastically fast, under the condition,
that we have mashed potatoes yesterday.

Because my family loves mashed potatoes,
and I love to make my family fun,
it stays cold very often,
mashed potatoes from yesterday with butter and cream.

And then it's fast: into the pot with potatoes
I put the egg in and knead the dough with my hand,
gradually sprinkling flour,
so that the dough becomes plastic and
fit for kneading on a dough.

Then I finish my work on the carpentry board
- I make the dough just like for dumplings,
when it is reasonably smooth, I divide it into portions,
from which I turn - also by hand - rollers.

Then, with the knife, I cut it at an angle 75% just the hooves.

In the meantime, I already have a large pot on the kitchen
with boiling water.

I put the dumplings on the boiling water
and a minute after leaving, I fish it with a slotted spoon.

Then, on the same water, I throw another batch of potato dumplings.

They are wonderful straight out of the water, but they can be browned
and they also taste delicious.

My aunt used to say, that the best for "hoofs" are cuttings.

And it's hard to disagree with her,
because with cutlet sauce they are really delicious.

Sauerkraut salad is perfect for this.
